Made out of solid brass, the 2-1/2 inch Mortise Bolt has a 1-3/4 backset and a 1/2 inch diameter. Mortise Bolts are used to lock a door on one side. It uses a rack and pinion method to operate the door bolt (turning the knob slides the bolt in or out). Comes packaged with matching finish strike plate and mounting screws.
